Shop for Schools to Benefit Teton Valley Education Foundation

November 2, 2015

The Teton Valley Education Foundation (TVEF) is encouraging valley residents to shop local this holiday season. When you do, your dollars will help students in the classroom through the TVEF’s annual Shop for Schools campaign on Saturday, December 5.  Local businesses who sign up to partner with this year’s Shop for School campaign are asked to donate a percentage of their sales to the Foundation on this shopping day. So not only are you taking care of your holiday shopping but you’re also helping support education!

Businesses can donate whatever percentage they choose, starting at 10%, but everyone who participates must guarantee at least $50 to the Foundation to cover the advertising costs. Advertising, posters and other publicity will tout those businesses who participate.  If businesses cannot afford to donate a percentage, they can ask their customers to “Round Up For Schools.” This method allows customers to donate their change back to the Foundation for the week of November 27 through December 5.

The Teton Valley Education Foundation’s staff, volunteers and board members are walking the streets this week to finalize business participation. If you would like to be part of this Shop Local and Shop for Schools campaign, please call Pam Walker at 307-277-5093 or leave a message at 208-228-5925, ext. 4121 or email her at TVEFed@d401.k12.id.us.
